What is Trivia Tonite?
A live trivia game show in your city, at 8pm. Everyone’s on the same question at the same second, an AI character hosts the room, and there’s a real cash pot put up by a sponsor. It’s the thing you do with people — not alone, not scrolling a feed.
-
How much does it cost to play?
Nothing. It’s free to play, always — no purchase, ever. The pot is funded by a sponsor, not by players. There is no way to pay to enter and no way to buy an advantage.
-
So how is the cash pot real?
A sponsor puts up the pot for the night. Trivia Tonite is a game of skill — you win by knowing the answers, not by chance — and the pot is split among the top players at the end. Payouts go to verified, 16+ phone accounts. (The exact rules live in the Terms.)
-
When and where can I play?
Each show runs at 8pm in your city’s time, locked to your local zone — your pot, your neighbours. We’re starting Canada-first and adding cities from the waitlist.
-
Who can play?
Accounts are for players 16 and older who own their phone number. Kids can absolutely play along on the family’s screen — bring the couch — but the account holder and any prize winner is a 16+ phone owner. Some late-night shows and features are 19+.
-
Is the host a real person?
No — the host is an AI character who runs the room, and we say so out loud at the start of every show. The sponsorship is disclosed too. No pretending.
-
Do I get eliminated if I miss one?
Never. Nobody gets cut. You play every question to the end, you can climb back with a hot streak, and even a tough night gets a shout-out and an invite back. We’re not in the business of making you feel behind.
-
What do you need from me?
A phone number (we store only a scrambled version of it, never the raw number on screen) and a rough sense of your city so we can put you in the right show. That’s it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

En français ?
Oui — French-speaking players get French rooms, and our rules and policies will be available in French. (Cette page sera bientôt disponible en français.)

Why “the human counterpoint”?
Because it’s built to bring people together in real time, in real places — the opposite of doom-scrolling alone. Social entertainment, not social media.
