Terms & Conditions

Last updated: pending launch · Draft — pending legal review

This is a plain-language working draft, not the final contract, and not legal advice. The official rules — including the French-language version required for players in Quebec — will be reviewed by counsel and posted before any cash-prize show runs.

1. What Trivia Tonite is

Trivia Tonite is a live, skill-based trivia game show. Games are free to play, hosted by an AI character, and prizes are funded by sponsors. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Free entry — no purchase, ever

Entry is and always will be free. There is no entry fee, no purchase necessary, and no way to pay for an advantage. The prize pot is provided by a sponsor; players never pay into it. This keeps Trivia Tonite a contest of skill, not a lottery.

3. It’s a game of skill

Winning is determined by your performance — answering correctly and quickly — not by chance. Where the law requires a skill-testing element to award a prize, the trivia itself is that element.

4. Who can play

5. The pot & prizes

6. AI host & sponsorship disclosure

The host is an AI character, not a human, and each show is sponsor-funded. We disclose both at the start of every show and here. We will never present the host as a real person or hide a sponsorship.

7. Fair play

To keep it fair for everyone, you agree not to: use bots, scripts, or automation; misrepresent your location to enter a zone you’re not in; register multiple accounts or use multiple numbers to game entries; or otherwise cheat or disrupt a show. One number, one region, one entry per show. We may disqualify, suspend, or remove accounts that break these rules.

8. Your account & identity

Your phone number is your durable identity; we store only a hashed form of it and never display it. In a show you appear under a temporary handle, not your real-world identity. See the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes, suspension & ending a show

We may update these Terms, change or cancel a show, or stop a show in progress if needed (for example, a technical fault or suspected manipulation). Material changes will be posted here.

10. No warranty & limitation of liability

Trivia Tonite is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (To be confirmed by counsel.)
